Website Optimization Overview
1. What is website conversion rate?
In digital marketing, the conversion rate is the percentage of unique visitors who take a desired action upon visiting the website. The desired action may be submitting a sales lead, making a purchase, viewing a key page of the site, downloading a white paper, or some other measurable action. (copied from Wikipedia)
2. What is website optimization?
Website optimization is the process of improving a visitor’s perception of a website by optimizing its content and appearance, in order to make it more appealing to the target audience. This is typically measured through goals such as a conversion rate. (copied from Wikipedia)
3. What is multivariate optimization?
In digital marketing, multivariate testing is a process through which more than one component of a website may be tested in a live environment. It can be thought of in simple terms as numerous split tests or A/B tests performed on one page concurrently. (copied from Wikipedia)
4. What are the costs and what are the benefits?
Regarding the cost — software license, marketing team time, design and copy writing services, and IT help are a few of the main components.
The main benefits of website optimization include measurable ROI and customer-centric feedback incorporation that profoundly impact upon your competitive position and investment payback.
With Hiconversion, the cost is minimized through the innovative CRO solution that has a software price to fit all budgets, eliminates the ongoing drain on marketing team time and the need for design and copywriting services, and drops the requirement for IT support. Hiconversion amplifies the main benefits by delivering measurable, exponential ROI and page combinations suited to your real-time customers’ tastes.
7. How often I should optimize?
The fact is that the quality of the optimization results depends on the input you provide to the optimization engine. The more frequently you test, the better results you’ll get. Therefore, you should make website optimization an ongoing part of your digital marketing strategy, right alongside SEO and SEM/PPC.
8. What is an “average” conversion rate?
This can be a topic of serious debate. There are no established standards that everyone follows. Analytics companies, the big research companies, and digital media associations are going to have to come together to define these standards and then people are going to have to follow what is agreed before accurate numbers can be delivered consistently.
- sales sites have conversion in the range between
0.5% and 8%, with the average rate being 2.3%
according to FireClick statistics.
- lead generation sites have 2-3% of users completing
an optional or free registration process, with 5%
being best in class according to e-consultancy.com
- subscriptions to sales conversion is typically
between 1 and 7% according to e-consultancy.com
About Hiconversion
1. What is Hiconversion?
Hiconversion is a technology innovation company that delivers the fastest conversion rate optimization (CRO) solution on the market, and has packaged and priced it so that everyone can now access this important digital marketing discipline.
2. Who is your ideal customer?
Our ideal customer is an organization that is serious about digital marketing performance. The low monthly fee and ease-of-use of the product are two key reasons that our solution is viable for companies of any size, even the small-to-medium enterprise (SME) market with low-traffic pages that couldn’t possibly afford other CRO products.
4. What is the business case for Hiconversion?
Instead of a direct answer, let’s make the following analogy: Our flat service fee can be compared with a mobile telephone subscription in terms of market price. However, unlike an average employee mobile phone, Hiconversion delivers an exponential ROI measured in thousands of dollars per month together with customer-centric knowledge that can profoundly impact your overall business, instead of lots of talking.
5. What can the “free” version do for me?
During the first 30 days, you can use Hiconversion without any restrictions. We invite you to verify for yourself how well our service works. If you decide not to subscribe at the end of the free period, we will disable Hiconversion at no charge.
6. How do I start using Hiconversion?
To use Hiconversion, register on the Web site for a free trial or to purchase a plan. After you set up your account, you will immediately be able to proceed with the service.
7. What if I forget my password?
If you forget the log-in password you created but still have access to the email associated with your account, click ‘Forgot your password?’ below the Log In button. You will receive an email with instructions on how to change your password.
8. What can I do with Hiconversion?
Our service enables you to easily prepare and execute CRO on your web site:
1. Easy experimental setup? start immediately
without any dependence on access to the
website source code or technical resources and
work with live web pages
2. Fast optimization? our self learning method has
the capability to dynamically create and test page
combinations; at each iterative step knowledge
about prior performance is incorporated and a new and
better combination is predicted; as a result, the
system is able to converge toward the best
solution in the shortest period of time.
3. Deep result analysis? test data sets are processed
and presented in a rich interactive format enabling
an understanding of test results and customer
demographics.
About Implementation
3. Does my IT department need to be involved?
Our service is designed with the goal of minimizing or completely eliminating the need for IT department participation (and cost). However, at some point in the implementation process, you will need to have access to the website source code or publish the optimization enabled version of the source code on your website server (two Java snippets, not wholesale source editing!). So, if you do not have access to the website source code or if you need assistance with the publishing of the source code, then you will need your IT department’s participation. Our visual setup wizard is able to fully automate new source code creation steps that other solutions require.
4. How long does it take to get an optimization
experiment up and running?
If you do not have any external dependences, it will take less than an hour. From the moment your section variations are ready for the experiment, you can deploy. However, in a typical implementation, you have to budget time for creative design work regarding the variations you’d like to try, and depending on how involved this is for you, it may require more time than an hour.
5. Who develops variations?
You decide who develops variable section content. Hiconversion enables you to easily collaborate with external participants via automated content export and import features. In addition, you can create variations yourself via an in-place edit tool that is truly market-leading.
6. How many experiments I can run at one time?
There are no technical limitations on how many experiments you can run at one time – you have the option to run an infinite number. Different pricing plans are available to help you select the right one for your organization’s appetite.
7. How quickly will I see results?
Our rich and interactive reports are designed to give you insight into real-time progress of your experiments. Typically, reports are refreshed each hour.
The speed of achieving meaningful test results depends on the size of the experiment (i.e. number of all possible page combinations), visitor volume and starting conversion rate. However, Hiconversion is measurably and demonstrably an order of magnitude faster than any competing CRO solution available today. For more quantifiable answers please see: Sizing your experiment.
8. Will I need marketing and creative help?
If you have no idea about what would you like to test on your website — and don’t feel badly if this is the case, as most of our customers who are interested in CRO are “newbies” too! — then you can seek help from online marketing specialists. Regarding creative work, different organizations have different setups. Some use internal resources, while others use external resources.
With Hiconversion, you can easily import third-party-developed creative work. Or, if you decide to try your own ideas, you can use the visual editor and create section variations yourself. Best of all, the speed of our application and ease of use will enable you to rapidly test as many optimization ideas as you would like. Try it and see for yourself!

Technically Speaking
1. Do I need access to the website source code?
Not immediately. You can perform the entire experiment setup without any access to your website source code. However, before you can initialize your test, Hiconversion.com requires that you inject two lines of JavaScript into the source code of your website pages that will participate in the optimization experiment. Script injection can be done automatically by our system, or manually by your technician if you’re uncomfortable with outside resources touching enterprise website source.
4. How do you deliver variable page combinations?
Hiconversion delivers variable web page content via transparent JavaScripts inserted in the website source code during the experiment setup step. We call our scripts “Transparent” because they are generic and experiment non-specific. They need to be inserted only once and then they can support all future CRO experimentation and conversion management capabilities.
6. How many page sections can be tested at the same time?
There is no limit to the number of page sections you can test at the same time. However, generating experiments with too many elements will result in a huge number of combinations, which will then require prolonged testing time — so be aware of this when designing the experiment. A handy test duration calculator is provided for your use, to determine the indicative length of any experiment you design.
